Toenail Aesthetics
According To Dr. Nelya Lobkova
KeryFlex® is a professional nail restoration system for unsightly, partially missing, defective, damaged, brittle, or discolored (black or yellow) toenails resulting from multiple conditions, such as injury, trauma, or fungus (onychomycosis). The painless procedure involves an in-office application of a medicated resin that covers the defects while strengthening the natural toenail underneath. The result is a cosmetically pleasing and naturally feeling toenail, that unlike acrylic toenails, is flexible thus allowing natural movement and growth of the toenail underneath. Stop hiding your toenails, we can make them beautiful again! Checkout our before and after results below and book a visit with NYC's top Podiatrist and KeryFlex specialist, Dr. Nelya Lobkova at Step Up Footcare in our TriBeCa Downtown New York City location to have your toenails professionally restored with the KeryFlex® Nail Restoration System.
How Does KeryFlex Work?
Before the KeryFlex agent can be applied the toenail must first be prepped. The damaged portion of the toenail is gently trimmed and filed down using a podiatric toenail burr. Once that is complete the bonding agent followed by the resin is applied and hardened using an ultraviolet light. The toenail is then expertly molded to the desired aesthetic appearance, after which point a sealant is applied and cured one last time with an ultraviolet light. Typically this entire procedure takes 30 minutes depending on the toenail’s condition and the number of toenail’s being restored. For more information about KeryFlex please visit their website.
Who Should Avoid KeryFlex?
If any of the following apply to you then KeryFlex is NOT for you:

Peripheral neuropathy
Suspicious pigmented nail lesions
Ingrown Toenails
Pregnant or nursing
Dr. Nelya Lobkova will assess whether or not the KeryFlex Toenail Restoration system is safe for you during your initial visit and consultation.
What Else DO I need to Know About Keryflex?
For a successful KeryFlex application at least 15% of the natural toenail must be intact. Nail polish can be applied to the KeryFlex toenail as soon as the sealant has cured. As an additional benefit KeryFlex is impregnated with an anti-fungal agent and can be used in conjunction with other fungal toenail treatments while aesthetically improving the appearance of toenails damaged by fungus. We do strongly recommend that patients who suffer from fungal toenails undergo our FDA-cleared Laser Toenail Fungus Therapy protocol for best long term results.
